BAphoto Live’20 · Special Edition Online

info

Del Infinito’s proposal for BAphoto 2020 is conformed by selected works by the artists Matilde Marín, Axel Straschnoy, Esteban Pastorino and Estanislao Florido. The exhibition’s project, this time around presented exclusively in a virtual format, digs deep into the relationship, exchange and incidence between the human and the nature that surrounds it. The video and photos that are presented put in manifest the diverse processes in which each artist deposits their creative interests in order to achieve results that conform their vision today.

Matilde Marín, an artist profoundly related with our planet, its inhabitants and landscapes, presents works from both her series Paisajes Indeterminados and Cuando Divise el Humo Azul de Itaca. This selection denotes the will of intervention that the artist holds in everything that relates to nature and the context in which she poses her regard.

Axel Straschnoy includes in the photographic registry of the launch of rockets that he himself fabricated and sent flying, a specific objectual memory of photography. The set of objects that gives life to his project around Finland’s Asociation of Spacial Investigations seeks to express the relational process behind each outcome.

Esteban Pastorino tours and records landscapes in a panoramic manner by creating his own medium and cameras. Once the photographs are created, he challenges his exhibition method to go beyond two-dimensionality and intervenes the space in a way similar to how he went through it previously.

Estanislao Florido proposes a series of video pieces that explore his visions of the past, present and future. Nature and man mediated by a look that decomposes what exists to re-think our foundations.

It is then the stories and results behind the paths, trips or journeys of each of the mentioned artists that make up this project. This tries to suggest that, just as it happens in nature, everything is about a constant and collaborative exchange.
